2. Date of Birth : 8th November, 1940

3. Nationality : Bangladeshi

4. Education : Graduation with distinction in Industrial Design from National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan with an Asia Foundation Scholarship in 1963. He involved himself in the design profession and till date he has been pursuing in the profession.

5. Different Training, Seminar and Invitation attended
a. Represented Bangladesh to a month-long seminar on 'Design for Export' held at Geneva, Switzerland organized by ITC/UNCTAD/GATT which included field trips to UK, Sweden, Czechoslovakia in 1975.
b. Visited Paris, France at the invitation from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of France.
c. He is one of the pioneers in planning and promoting export fairs in Bangladesh. He also had a significant contribution in the development of Bangladeshi exportable products to compete in the international market as far as the quality is concerned. He traveled to the Philippines, Canada, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, United States of America, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for the promotion of handicraft export.
d. Participated in the Film Appreciation Course conducted at Dhaka by Prof. Satish Bahadur of Pune Film Institute, India in 1975.
e. Participated in the Packaging Course arranged by Export Promotion Bureau, Dhaka in 1984.

6. He is the founder principal of Chittagong Art College and one of the founder members of Fulki (an aptitude school, first of its kind in Bangladesh). In 1992, he led a group of child-lovers to initiate the most popular and regular children and juvenile monthly magazine ‘Toitomboor’ in which he has been writing and making the illustrations as well.

7. Sabih pursued his creativity in mosque design as well. The newly built ‘Josne Ara Kashem Mosque’ at Ballavpur in Feni and the proposed ‘Baitush Sharif Mosque’ to be built at Sharifpur in Noakhali are vivid examples of his creativity.

8. Sabih’s first book ‘Pimprey Necklace O Onnanno Golpo’ was published in 1973 although he started writing since his boyhood. Later on, his humorous stories started getting more attention from the readers and Sabih concentrated more in writing humorous stories. Three of his books – ‘Nimitto Matro’, ‘His Excellencey Mr. Dysentery’ and ‘Manoniyo Kochu’ are collections of his humorous stories. Besides, he wrote for the children as well. ‘Lekha Theke Rekha’ (Islamic Calligraphy), ‘Karukajey Jadukar’ (Islamic Design) and ‘Picnic’ are the books that were immensely enjoyed by the young readers.

9. He is the Past President of Rotary Club of Dhaka West, Chief Advisor of Cox’s Bazar Baitush Sharaf Hospital, Life Member of Chittagong Maa-O-Shishu Hospital and the President of Fatehabad Foundation for Education and Work.

10. In the arena of books and publications, Sabih is well-known as a cover-designer and illustrator. In 1964, he was honoured with the All Pakistan National Book Centre Award. Besides, he was honoured with Kamrul Hasan Award, Bir Chattagram Mancha Award, Chittagong Shamiti-Dhaka Award, Srijan Shawjan Shammilon (Govt. Art College, Chittagong), Chittagong Charukala College Award-2003, Chittagong Samity Padak-2004, Charushilpi Award-2005, Oboshar Award and Fatehabad Kriti Shantan Award as well.
